Did you know that washing machines may use up to 14% of the water in the home?  Most washers use 32-59 gallons of water per cycle, depending on the size of the load.

A standard showerhead uses 5-7 gallons of water per minute.  During an average shower, a person may use 25-35 gallons of water.

Standard dishwashers use about 20 gallons of water per cycle.

Toilets manufactured before 1980 use 5-7 gallons per flush.  In a household of 4, the toilet may use 80-112 gallons of water each day.
